Josh Gordon is the Senior Communications Associate at the Policing Project at NYU School of Law, where he works to ensure communities have a voice in shaping public safety.

Josh brings over a decade of strategic communications experience, primarily in the criminal justice reform space. Most recently, he led communications at Think of Us, a child welfare reform nonprofit, where he translated complex research into accessible, human-centered stories for policymakers, practitioners, and advocates. Previously, as Communications Director at Recidiviz—a criminal justice tech nonprofit and former Google project—Josh helped elevate the organization’s credibility and contributed to securing major funding and new state partnerships.

Before that, he served as a Communications Manager at the Vera Institute of Justice, leading campaigns on prison reform, and earlier at BerlinRosen, managing communications for nonprofits, foundations, and universities. He has secured hundreds of media placements reaching over 20 million people, with campaigns earning coverage in The New York Times, WIRED, USA Today, The Hill, Essence, Newsweek, and Forbes.

He holds a B.S. in Advertising and Public Relations, with minors in Crisis Communication and Sociology.
