Katie Kinsey

Katie is the Chief of Staff at the Policing Project. A former special education teacher, Katie originally joined the Policing Project in 2017 as the Camden Program Manager where she worked with the Camden County Police Department to develop youth empowerment and community engagement programming. Following her work in Camden, Katie joined the Complex Litigation Department at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe where she served as a Managing Associate. Prior to Orrick and the Policing Project, she clerked for Magistrate Judge Mark P. Lane of the Western District of Texas. Katie rejoined the Policing Project in 2020 as a staff attorney where her work focuses on the ethical design and operation of policing tech.

Katie graduated cum laude from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law where she served as a Notes Editor on the Law Review. She also holds an M.S. in Special Education from Brooklyn College and a B.A. in political science from Brown University.
