Nancy Glass

Nancy is Senior Counsel on the Policing Project's litigation team. Previously, she was a trial attorney in the Special Litigation Section of the US Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division. While in the Civil Rights Division, Nancy played a lead role in conducting pattern-or-practice investigations of the Phoenix Police Department and the Trenton Police Department. She also enforced court orders to remedy systemic constitutional violations by law enforcement agencies in US v. Ferguson, Missouri and Melendres v. Arpaio. Before joining the Department of Justice, Nancy worked at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia. She represented children facing delinquency charges and adults charged with felonies in D.C. Superior Court. She then advocated for children in the deep end of the juvenile justice system as deputy chief of the Public Defender Service's Juvenile Services Program.

Nancy is a graduate of Columbia University and Stanford Law School. She clerked for Judge Susan Illston in the Northern District of California.
