Patrick Egan
Director of Strategic Communications
Patrick Egan is the Director of Strategic Communications at the Policing Project. Prior to joining the Policing Project, Patrick led communications at Equal Justice USA and its work to shift the national narrative around violence, trauma, and race. He led the creation of The Future of Public Safety, a multi-platform report on the thriving community-driven public safety ecosystem in Newark, NJ. He previously worked at Children’s Aid and the Center for Reproductive Rights. His writing and journalism have appeared in The Nation, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Appeal, Runner’s World, and elsewhere.
He earned a master’s degree from the Columbia Journalism School. He also holds an M.F.A. in fiction from University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a B.S. from the University of Richmond.
